Book a table, pick your pottery, and get creative. There’s a £3 studio fee per painter (to cover paint, glaze and firing) and our handmade pottery pieces are individually priced.
No experience is needed, we'll provide everything you need, including paints, aprons and plenty of encouragement. You’re also welcome to paint at your own pace :)
When you're finished, we'll glaze and fire your pottery in our kiln, ready for collection.

What are your opening times?
Our studio is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm for drop-in painting. We can be flexible with private events, please get in touch.
Why don't we have online booking?
At Buttercups, we've made the conscious decision not to use an online booking system, and we'd love to tell you why.
We're a small, family-run pottery painting studio, not a large chain. Every booking is looked after personally by us. With just 25 seats across tables of different sizes, no two bookings are ever quite the same. Whether you're visiting as a couple, bringing the whole family, or celebrating with a larger group, speaking to you directly means we can make sure everyone has the best space to enjoy their visit.
Pottery painting is wonderfully relaxed, and that's one of the reasons we love it. Some families with young children might finish in under an hour, while a group of friends could happily paint, chat, and enjoy themselves for two or three hours. Because every visit is different, it's almost impossible for an online booking system to accurately predict table availability. We also love welcoming walk-in visitors whenever we have space, something that's much easier to do without a rigid booking system.
Booking with us is simple, just give us a call or send us a message. We'll answer any questions, find a time that works for you, and make sure everything is ready before you arrive.
For us, that little bit of personal service is part of what makes Buttercups special. When you book with us, you're speaking to a real person, not a computer… and we think that's rather lovely. 🌼
